FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:    Why should I choose Washington Premier Football Club (WPFC) for the development my child's soccer skills?

A:    Washington Premier is recognized nationally as one of the top youth soccer clubs in the country. The club has a focused coaching philosophy and player development pathway for players through age 18. WPFC owns their field complex which Includes 25 acres of grass fields, and (2) full size lighted turf fields which provides the ease of one venue for practice. WPFC offers a competitive fee structure with access to the highest level of competition in the country. WPFC consistently ranks as one of the top Regional Clubs in league and post season play results.

Q:    Why should my son/daughter play in the Junior Program versus playing up in the Premier Program at U10?

A:    It is very important for any young athlete to have a positive experience and have fun playing their sport.  Based on our experience, we have found that putting children in situations that they are not ready for, can become a negative experience for the both the player and family.  Our Junior Program focuses on developing the fundamental skills to ensure the player's readiness to play at the next level. Our program also provides the family a great transition from a recreational program to a premier level program.

Q.       Can my son or daughter play other sports, if they participate in the Junior Program?

A:    YES! The junior program has been designed with flexibility for both parents and players. We offer a year round option to meet the needs of the young soccer player who can't get enough. We also offer a fall and spring session for players and parents that do not want to commit the time or have other interests they want to pursue.

Q:    What are the benefits of this program versus a traditional recreational soccer program?

A:    Benefits of WPFC's Junior Program include:

  • Professional and experienced coaching staff versus volunteer parents
  • Focus on individual player development
  • Dedicated program Technical Director
  • Limited local travel
  • Competition against other  Regional Club League Programs (highest competition level in the state)
  • One soccer facility for trainings and home competitions
  • Organized league and tournament play
  • More opportunities to train and play e.g. Spring, Winter, & Summer, recreational soccer is traditionally a FALL season only
  • Year Round participants get a 20% discounted fee to WPFC Academy Program sessions

Q. Why does the Year Round Option cost $900.00?

A:    Costs include coaching, league and state fees, complex use and field maintenance. This is actually very low in comparison to other organized youth sports programs. With all of the benefits provided, the cost per hour per player for a participant in the Year Round option is less than $7.00 per hour.
